Accomplishments

In the 27 years in the business I worked my way from the deburr department to the sheet metal dept. then to manual machining dept. I then ran a quick fab dept. for several years followed by a toolmaker/model maker position. I was then promoted to line lead whose responsibilities included; scheduling, troubleshooting, and insuring all associates stayed on task and were supplied with whatever was necessary for them to accomplish day to day activities. After this I was moved to a tooling engineer position and was responsible for quoting, tool designing, tool building, and managed various projects from start to finish.

TOOL & DIE MAKER – Rokwell Industries currently has an opening for a Tool & Die Maker in a full-time position working M-Th, 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  This position will be responsible for producing tools, dies, and specialized parts and devices used on manufacturing machines.  Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Analyzing  print specifications, setup and operate machine tools to manufacture parts to specifications; maintaining the maintenance and repair of existing tooling fixtures; fitting and assembling tools to make and repair, jigs, fixtures, gauges and hand tools; setup and operate machining centers; build and maintain dies for production; designing tools, jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids; and verifying dimensions, alignment, and clearances of finished components using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Skills and Experience includes high school diploma or equivalent; formal training in an apprenticeship program, vocational school, community or technical college is preferred; eight (8) years of documented experience as a Tool & Die Maker in a manufacturing environment; and knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position for a long period of time; must be able to frequently move about the work area to perform required duties; must possess manual dexterity and visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions and operate computer programs, office equipment, and manufacturing equipment; and may relocate products weighing between .5 (1/2) pound up to 60 pounds at various times.
